Create codes that remain easy to scan
The generator works locally in your browser. Use the instructions below to choose a barcode standard, prepare sequential labels and avoid the most common printing problems.
Choose the code type
Use a barcode for short identifiers used by scanners and warehouse systems. Use a QR code for links, text, email, phone numbers or Wi-Fi details.
Enter and verify the value
Check every character before printing. A correct-looking label can still open the wrong record when one digit or letter is missing.
Adjust the appearance
Keep strong contrast, leave a clear margin and avoid making barcode bars too narrow. SVG is the safest format when the label will be resized.
Test before bulk printing
Print one sample at the final size and scan it with more than one device. Only then print the full batch.

Which barcode format should you choose?
The correct choice depends on the system that will read the label. When a workplace, retailer or software provider specifies a format, always follow that requirement.

Sequential printing
Print labels numbered from 1 to 100
Open the Barcode tab, select a format and set the appearance first. In the series section, enter the start number, end number and step. A range of 1 to 100 with a step of 1 produces one label for every number.
Choose how many labels should fit on each A4 page. Use fewer labels per page for large warehouse labels and more labels per page for small identification stickers.

Print quality
A quick checklist for reliable scanning
Most scanning failures are caused by low contrast, insufficient blank space, distortion or printing at a size that is too small for the available scanner.
Use dark bars or modules on a light, plain background.
Keep an empty margin around the complete code.
Do not stretch the image in only one direction.
Prefer SVG when resizing or sending artwork to a printer.
Avoid glossy reflections, folds and curved label surfaces.
Test the final printed label, not only the screen preview.

Are the entered values uploaded to a server?
The generator is designed to create codes in the browser. Do not enter confidential information unless you have reviewed the page and your organisation permits it.
Which file type is best for printing?
SVG is normally the safest choice when the code may be resized. PNG is convenient for documents and applications that do not accept SVG.
Can I print a series such as 1 to 100?
Yes. Use the barcode series fields to define the start, end and step, then select the number of labels per A4 page.
Why does a code scan on screen but fail after printing?
The printed version may be too small, blurred, stretched, low contrast or placed too close to other graphics. Test the final material and size.
Can I add the Charles Kendall logo?
Yes, the watermark option places the configured logo above the code. Always test the combined print before producing a large batch.
Does the generator create official retail product numbers?
